Mrs. Amber Browning

LuHi Role: Teacher (Spanish), World Language Department Chair, joined the LuHi faculty in 2003

Education: Gettysburg College, Spanish and History (Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa); Hofstra University, MS ED World Languages (Kappa Delta Pi)

What I love about my role: Teaching lower level Spanish, I absolutely love seeing the linguistic progress of my students! I also love sharing different cultures. Especially today, becoming a contributing global citizen is more important than ever. I am so blessed to help my students start that journey.

Other professional experience: I taught in Missouri, Illinois, and California before my husband received his call to be pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City where our family worships.

Hobbies: I love cooking and baking! I also love to travel, see new sights and have new experiences. When we travel I often take a cooking lesson in that country! My family and I have visited over 20 countries. I also love riding horses, being outside, gardening, and hiking. I also love teaching people to become teachers! I serve as an adjunct faculty in the Education Department at Hofstra University. I am committed to professional development and continuing education, and am always taking courses to better myself as an educator.

What I love about LuHi: I love the diversity of LuHi. Working with the students at LuHi is very rewarding.
