Mrs. Linda Carroll

LuHi Role: School Nurse, joined the LuHi staff in 2017

Education: Stony Brook University, Bachelor of Science, Nursing (Magna cum Laude); Queens College, Master of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education

What I love about my role: What I love about working at LuHi is the relationships that I’m able to develop with the students that attend LuHi regardless of whether they enter as middle schoolers, freshman or further on in their high school years. It’s gratifying to see the positive impact that I can have on a student. Something as small as a shy student being able to make eye contact after a short period of time pleases me.

Other professional experience: I started my career teaching at the Shield Institute in Flushing. I stayed at home for 13 years to raise my children and returned to the workforce in 2012. Since returning to work, I’ve worked in several school districts on Long Island.

Hobbies: I enjoy gardening, hiking, dancing and traveling.

Family: I have been married to my husband, Patrick for 23 years and we have 22 year old twins, Aidan and Bridget. I can’t forget to mention our family’s beloved goldendoodle, and everyone’s best pal, Bentley.

What I love most about LuHi: What I love most about working at LuHi is the variety of students that I get to interact with and the relationships that I develop with them. Because our students come from a variety of different socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, I learn so much from them.
