LUTHERAN CRUSADER FUND Awards over $40,000 in Grants
During a special Chapel service the first week of April, Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School faculty, staff, and students recognized twenty institutions with grants totaling over $40,000 from the Lutheran Crusader Fund.
Provided by an anonymous donor in 1998, a generous $1 million contribution enabled LuHi to establish the Lutheran Crusader Fund (LCF)—the focus of which is the creation and enhancement of innovative programs that benefit Christian institutions and support people and organizations in times of significant crisis or need. A committee, which includes representation from LuHi students, sought to fulfill the desire of the generous donor to be a blessing to others through LuHi. To date, over $2,000,000 has been awarded to over 575 deserving organizations through the LCF.
Grant recipients, representing a wide variety of Christian organizations from all over the New York Metropolitan area, received support for expanded ministry, community outreach, and innovative service programs.
