Recent service trips for students included visits to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore and Island Harvest's Food Pantry
LuHi students recently participated in two "Be the Light" day trips to organizations on Long Island. "Be the Light" day is a reference to the school year theme of "Light" from John 8:12. The first "Be the Light" day trip was Wednesday, January 29th. A group of 8 students, along with Vicar Adam Schoepflin, assisted at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Ronkonkoma, NY. The second "Be the Light" day experience took place on Tuesday, February 4th. Vicar Schoepflin brought a group of 10 students to assist at Island Harvest's Food Pantry in Hauppauge. The team organized and packaged 6 palets worth of donations that will be sent all over Long Island.
There are many other service opportunities coming up for LuHi students, including a mission trip to Puerto Rico and the school-wide Meal Packing Event. For more information on our spring semester service opportunities, check out this blog post.
