LuHi Student Named National Merit Scholarship Finalist

Congratulations to Andrew Semelka!
LuHi senior Andrew Semelka has been named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. The National Merit Scholarship program is based on scores from the PSAT exam, which students take during their junior year. The top 50,000 student scores in the country are recognized as either Commended Students or National Merit Scholarship semifinalists. Drew was recognized as a semifinalist back in September, and in February received news that he was a finalist. He will find out if he will receive a scholarship from the program later this spring.

Drew's outstanding accomplishment was recognized in front of the entire student body in chapel on Wednesday, February 26. LuHi principal, Mrs. Jessica Raba, read the letter she received from the National Merit Scholarship program regarding Drew, and Drew received a certificate to commemorate this important occasion. Congratulations, Drew!
