Financial Aid

LuHi seeks to enroll a well-rounded student body that reflects a diversity of abilities, backgrounds, interests, and talents. To this end, the school offers financial assistance to families demonstrating need through our financial aid application process. All financial information and financial aid decisions are confidential.

LuHi believes the primary responsibility for tuition rests with the family, and each family is expected to look to its own resources before requesting aid. However, we recognize the distinctiveness of each situation and, when there is demonstrated need, tailor grants to meet the needs of each qualified family.

  • How is financial need assessed? Is there an income cutoff?

    Many factors are taken into account, including the number of children in a family and how many of them attend tuition-charging schools; additional dependents; sources of income, assets and liabilities; expenses such as mortgage or rent, automobiles, etc. Since each family’s situation is evaluated individually, there is no specific income cutoff.
  • When can I apply for assistance?

    A student must be an applicant to our school before applying for financial aid. Aid requests will not adversely affect a student's application. Admissions decisions are based on academic merit and personal qualities.
  • Will financial assistance be renewed each year?

    Families reapply for aid each year by submitting an updated financial aid application and federal tax return. If a family’s financial situation remains comparable to the previous year, we will grant comparable assistance.
  • What is the deadline to apply for assistance?

    The preferred deadline for submitting a financial aid application is April 1 for the following school year. It is in your best interest to submit the application as early as possible. Late requests can only be considered as funds are available.
