    The 34th Annual Bid-for-Kids Auction held on Saturday, November 10, was a huge success, thanks to the hundreds of community members who donated items, bought tickets and bid on silent and live auction items.

  • Honoring Paul Homer and Jon Schenck

    Beautiful skies, long drives, and amazing attendees ensured our 30th LuHi Open was a tremendous success. Followed by the Visscher Award Dinner, this annual event saw more than 100 golfers and dinner guests join together to help raise over $66,000 for academic and athletic programs and facilities at LuHi.
  • LuHi Installs New Head of School

    Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School (LuHi) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. John Buck as Head of School. 

    The 55th Commencement Ceremony took place on June 9 in the Visscher Gymnasium. Mr. John Buck, newly named head of school, along with faculty and staff welcomed family and friends of the 119 graduates.
  • 17 LuHi Seniors Commit to Dream Schools for Athletics

    Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School hosted an athletic signing for 10 seniors to sign their National Letter of Intent in the Hahn Center on Thursday, May 10. This makes 17 seniors total playing at the collegiate level from the 2018 graduating class. Of these 17 students, 12 of them have received athletic scholarships to play at Division I and Division II schools. This event commemorates the hard work that these student-athletes have put in to achieve their dreams of competing on the collegiate level. Way to go, seniors!
  • The Arts are Alive and Well at LuHi!

    LuHi hosted its annual Fine Arts Festival. Parents, family, and friends were invited to attend this event to enjoy the sounds of the LuHi Band, Orchestra, and Chorus, as well as see the Visual Arts Displays and Dance Showcase. 
  • 2018 Lutheran Crusader Fund Grants Awarded

    During a special ceremony in April, Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School faculty, staff, and students recognized eighteen institutions with grants totaling close to $43,000 from the Lutheran Crusader Fund.
  • Meals from the Heart - LuHi's 8th Annual Meal Packing Event

    On April 15-17, Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School hosted its eighth annual Meal Packing Event. Over the course of the three days, students faculty, and staff, along with the help of local schools, community groups, and our association congregations, packed an astounding 306,922 meals for Long Island Food Pantries and the Andrew Grene School in Haiti; This marks LuHi’s eight-year total 2,508,512 meals packaged for families with food insecurity. 
  • Nicaragua 2018

    A group of 32 students along with their chaperones took off on Thursday, February 15 for a weeklong mission trip to Chacraseca, Nicaragua. They traveled to a remote village outside the city of Leon to help improve conditions in homes. Together students and chaperones installed over 20 sinks in homes that previously had no running water, laid cement floors, and assisted with the construction of a new home.  
  • Shrek the Musical

    LuHi families came together this past weekend to watch the Drama Club’s all-school production of Shrek the Musical. Our students never fail to amaze us! These talented students danced, sang, memorized lines and delivered fantastic performances. Congratulations to the entire Drama Club for putting on a great show! Special thanks to director Pastor Justin Vetrano. 
  • Long Island Lutheran Honors Mark Schmotzer and Celebrates New Campaign

    Long Island Lutheran paid tribute to an important member of the LuHi community with the Pro Deo et Schola Award, the school’s highest honor, at their annual Campaign Dinner held on Friday, February 2, 2018. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School, the church, and community; and this year’s recipient was Mark Schmotzer. 
  • LuHi Students are Breaking new Boundaries

    Beyond Boundaries is LuHi’s 4-day opportunity for students to immerse themselves in coursework not traditionally found within the classroom walls. This year, teachers had developed courses in areas of their passion, sometimes wildly outside of their academic field.
