Soul Drumming is a unique course offered for all types of musicians from middle to high school to explore a new way to learn music. Our environment is set up to nurture student’s progress in a fun and energetic space, where the class is able to be in the moment. The connection between body, mind, and passion really makes this course one-of-a-kind. Our goal is to inspire our students to connect with the music through our course which encompasses the study of rudiments set to popular genres. Not only will Soul Drumming unlock student’s creative potential, but help them learn how to connect their entire self into the music in this fun, upbeat class.

Block 1: September 11, 2021 - November 20, 2021

Soul Drumming - MSa (6th - 8th Grade)

Time: 12:20pm - 1:45pm

  • Follows NYState rudiment criteria Levels I-III
  • Focuses on "Compound" and "Simple Meters"
  • Study of "Match-Grip" and "Traditional Grip"
  • Covers reading excerpts Levels I-III (reading levels vary each trimester)

Soul Drumming - 101a (9th - 12th Grade)

Time: 2:00pm - 3:25pm
