Transformed: A Living Reflection of Faith and Growth at LuHi
Each year, LuHi’s school theme serves as a spiritual compass, guiding conversations, worship, and learning across campus. This year’s theme, Transformed, inspired by Romans 12:2–8—“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”—invites our community to reflect on what it means to be shaped by faith rather than by the world.
For Campus Pastor Rev. Dr. Adam Schoepflin ’05, the passage captures the heart of LuHi’s mission. “True transformation doesn’t happen by accident,” Pastor Schoepflin shared. “It happens when students are surrounded by a Christ-centered community that calls them to think deeply, live faithfully, and serve joyfully. At LuHi, every class discussion, chapel message, and service opportunity is designed to form students in both heart and mind as they learn to see the world through the lens of God’s grace.”
Faith and Growth in Every Corner of Campus
At LuHi, transformation is woven into all aspects of campus life. Through rigorous academics, vibrant faith formation, meaningful service, and close-knit relationships, students encounter daily opportunities to stretch their thinking and shape their hearts. Teachers pray alongside their classes and grow in faith through retreats and service opportunities. Coaches lead with integrity and purpose. Peers learn to lift one another up through encouragement and accountability.
Senior Karen Joseph shared how transformation has shaped her daily life: “LuHi has transformed me, shifting my perspective on the world and helping me approach situations with optimism, while strengthening both my faith and connection to my community.”
For others, transformation is felt through belonging and community. Senior Daniel Kinsedahl, a new student last year, reflected:
“Coming to LuHi, I was scared and didn’t know what to expect. The community here has transformed me into the person I am today by welcoming me into a faith-filled, loving environment. From the mission trip to Guatemala to the meal-packing events for families experiencing food insecurity, these experiences have made me a more faith-centered student and shaped both my mind and my character, helping me see LuHi as a place I call home.”

Experiencing Transformation Through Action
LuHi provides students with spaces to see transformation in action—through retreats, mission trips, leadership roles, and service initiatives like the annual Meal Packing Event. These experiences demonstrate that being “transformed” is both inward and outward: a continual work of God that shapes personal faith while inspiring meaningful impact in the world.
Pastor Schoepflin emphasizes this as the defining mark of a LuHi education: “When students leave LuHi, we hope they carry with them the truth that transformation is not a moment but a lifelong journey. By His mercy, God keeps renewing their minds, forming their character, and sending them into the world as people shaped by His grace.”
At LuHi, transformation is more than a theme—it is the foundation of who we are. It is present in classrooms and chapel seats, on courts and stages, and in the everyday interactions that build faith, community, and character.
