2023-24 School Year Theme: “Stand Firm”
“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will be standing firm.”
Ephesians 6:13-18
While owned by an association of Lutheran churches throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, LuHi welcomes students of all faith backgrounds into our caring, Christian community. Our Christian faith is central to our mission, and our campus ministry program provides students with the opportunity to grow in their faith through worship, religious instruction, retreats, and service events.
Weekly Chapel Services
The LuHi community comes together in worship every week. Our chapel services, which include music, prayer, scripture, and preaching, help orient us around God’s Word. Students are involved in the planning and implementation of weekly chapels, and are encouraged to offer their God-given gifts of music, singing, and dance in worship.
Retreats
Each grade has the opportunity to go on a retreat during the school year. From overnight trips to on-campus events, retreats provide students with the opportunity to deepen their faith through worship and devotion, and to bond with their classmates and teachers through fun activities. Retreats are a hallmark of the LuHi experience, and one of our most unique programs.
Service Opportunities
LuHi students have many opportunities to put their faith into action. Through LuHi Meal Packing, international and domestic mission trips, service clubs, Habitat for Humanity builds, and more, students serve their neighbors both locally and globally. LuHi students are encouraged not only to participate in service, but to create and implement their own service opportunities.
