Campaign Dinner

A long tradition of multi-year, comprehensive campaigns has enriched our educational programming and campus environment over decades. New leadership in Head of School John Buck has again brought vision to our school and its future. A recent year-long strategic planning process has laid out a 5-year plan focusing on four important goals for our successful future. Dovetailed with that process, a long-range campus master plan was recently completed with plans that will transform our educational space on the 32-acre campus, making the most of the facility and beautiful outdoor space. In line with our strategic and campus master plans, our new campaign will focus on engaging education and inspired spaces to create a learning environment for students that will be second to none.

These plans will be shared in detail in the coming months as we prepare to make significant changes to our campus learning environment. We look forward to kicking off the public phase of the campaign during the 2022-23 school year.

Bid-for-Kids Dinner Auction

Each fall, over 200 volunteers and donors work together to create a spectacular evening at the Bid-for-Kids Dinner Auction. Unique themes transport attendees to interesting places and times where they have the opportunity to bid on hundreds of exciting prize packages. From the silent auction and ticket auction to specialty raffles and the live auction, there’s something for everyone at LuHi’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Bid-for-Kids annually raises over $110,000 for programs and enhancements that directly benefit our students.

The 2021 Bid-for-Kids Auction was held off site for the first time at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. LuHi is thankful for the support from donors, sponsors, and engaged bidders as we made our first trip off campus for the event. Great items were scored by those who joined in the spirited bidding. Additionally, it was a perfect night to honor our 2021 Pro Deo et Schola recipients Karen and Bryan Hallock whose service to God and school includes important work on the Board, in committees, and in support of LuHi through their time, talents and treasures.

Save the date and join for Bid-for-Kids XXXVIII on a new night – Friday, November 11, 2022 at to the Crest Hollow Club in Woodbury. Please reach out to Jane or call 516.626.1700 x549 if you have any questions, or click here to register!

LuHi Open

Long Island’s premier golf event, the LuHi Open is among the most enjoyable golf outings in the area. Included in the program is an excellent day of golf and fantastic food at the beautiful Brookville Country Club, Brookville. Festivities conclude with the Rev. Ed Visscher Awards Dinner where friends of the school are honored for support and involvement in activities that enrich the lives of our students. Funds raised from the LuHi Open and Awards Dinner support education programs, as well as scholarships in memory of The Reverend Ed Visscher.

The 2022 LuHi Open and Rev. Ed Visscher Award Dinner was held on June 16. A full field of golfers and beautiful early summer weather were highlights of the day, while the evening celebrated two special LuHi families, Ronn & Kitty Hall, and Rev. Justin & Neina Vetrano.
