Tuition

Affording a LuHi Education

As a parent, you understand how important it is for your child to receive an education that prepares them well for college and a career. You want them to attend a school where they will be challenged academically, as well as supported socially and emotionally.

At LuHi, we are committed to making an excellent education accessible to families on Long Island, New York. We recognize affordability is an important consideration for many parents, which is why we offer variable tuition.

Tuition at LuHi is not “one-size-fits-all.”

Our variable tuition program is a means of helping as many families as possible afford the best education they can get for their children. We know this is your biggest priority, and FACTS, the financial needs assessment system we use, provides a clear, impartial, and transparent process for determining your family’s financial eligibility.

Variable tuition is a range that spans from 50-80% of the full cost of a LuHi education. No family at LuHi pays the true cost of tuition thanks to the generosity of our annual donors and a robust endowment.

Our variable tuition application (through FACTS) is easy to complete, and many families are (happily!) surprised to find out that our exceptional education really is affordable for them, after all.

Learn More about Variable Tuition

Growing up in the public school system ourselves, we were initially unsure about sending our children to private school due to high tuition costs.  However, changes in the public school system led us to consider a private school education. We knew it would not be easy to manage a private school tuition, especially when we have 3 children!  It almost felt like buying our house…can we afford this? Where do we have to cut down? Are we crazy? Should they just stay in public school?

It definitely has not been easy, but every time we attend a LuHi event or talk to a teacher, we know we made the right decision. Our children are happy and safe as they socialize in and out of school with their friends, and they are receiving an outstanding college-preparatory education.  This goes hand in hand with the school’s philosophy of educating the youth in mind, body, and spirit.
