How LuHi Alumni Inspire and Serve
LuHi kicked off its first Connecting and Growing Networking Event in the spring of 2015. Since then, administrators have traveled coast to coast – from New York City to Los Angeles, Chicago to Dallas – visiting alumni in over 30 different cities. Each stop is a special opportunity for classmates to reconnect, reminisce, and build new professional and personal relationships.
Over the years, these gatherings have been filled with heartwarming—and sometimes humorous—stories from former students and staff, celebrating the lasting impact of a LuHi education. Whether sharing memories from high school days or reflecting on teachers who made a difference, alumni continue to bring energy, laughter, and deep appreciation for their alma mater.
This spring, LuHi’s Connecting & Growing series continued that tradition in a new format, creating meaningful opportunities for alumni to engage, reflect, and be inspired across four virtual gatherings and a culminating in-person event in New York City. Together, these conversations explored how faith, vocation, and leadership continue to shape lives well beyond graduation.
Across every session, alumni from diverse fields shared thoughtful insight into how their LuHi experience continues to influence the way they lead, serve, innovate, and care for others in an increasingly complex world. Each conversation reflected something deeper than professional success alone: a shared commitment to purpose, community, and impact.

The series began with Fred Ruff ’88, Head of Studio at Refuge VFX, whose conversation on innovation, leadership, and emerging technology challenged participants to think boldly about the future while remaining adaptable in moments of rapid change. His reflections underscored that innovation is not only about new tools, but about cultivating the mindset to move forward with courage and vision.
Nancy Twine ’03, Entrepreneur, Investor, Advisor, and Philanthropist, followed with a conversation rooted in entrepreneurship, authenticity, and building with conviction. As founder and CEO of a globally recognized brand, she shared how clarity of purpose, resilience, and staying grounded in one’s values are essential to sustained growth.
Jehron Petty ’16, GTM at TEXTQL and Founder of ColorStack, brought perspective from education, nonprofit leadership, and technology, speaking openly about creativity, service, and the importance of staying curious. His encouragement to “pay it forward,” rooted in the culture of generosity he first experienced at LuHi, resonated deeply with participants.
The final virtual conversation featured Meredith Cammarata ’00, Social Work Manager at MSK Cancer Center, in a powerful discussion on healthcare and compassion in high-impact environments. She reflected on the importance of leading with both skill and heart, sharing that her upbringing and time at LuHi gave her “a sense of purpose and a foundation for compassion.”
That spirit of connection continued on May 13 as alumni and friends gathered in New York City for an in-person Connecting & Growing evening. The event, hosted by Zach Goldman ’02, built naturally on the themes of the spring series—affirming the value of spaces where meaningful conversation, shared experience, and authentic connection continue long after graduation.
In every conversation—virtual or in person—the goal remained the same: to build a community rooted in faith, strengthened by shared experience, and committed to growing together.
