Strategic Plan

Shine On

Since LuHi opened its doors in 1960, we’ve been educating and shaping compassionate, well-rounded young men and women through a Christ-centered, rigorous academic program and a kind and nurturing community.

Today, we have a strong, established culture of extraordinary family — a “Lighthouse of Love.” From here, anything is possible. We are poised in every way to do more and better as we cast our eyes toward the future.

Over the past five years, our strategic plan, Shine, has guided LuHi through a season of transformation. With bold goals and a shared vision, Shine has shaped our campus, strengthened our programs, and enriched the student experience.

We now stand at an exciting new moment in LuHi’s story. The progress of the past five years is not an endpoint—it is a launching pad. Together, we are stepping into the next phase of strategic planning: one that builds on our momentum, responds to today’s needs, and positions LuHi for a thriving future.

The impact of Shine can be felt across every part of our community. Together, we celebrate:

  • A fully renovated 30,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art classroom wing, designed for collaboration, innovation, and future-ready learning.
  • Expanded resources and support for faculty and staff, equipping them to serve students with excellence.
  • Record new student enrollment that reflects the strength of our programs and the vitality of our mission.
  • Significant revenue growth, ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.
  • Progress on the Rise.Shine. Campaign, raising more than $9 million toward a $15 million goal to continue strengthening our campus.

These outcomes are a direct result of aligned vision, prayer, and the commitment of the entire LuHi community.

While Shine represents a remarkable season of growth, it is not the final destination. It is one chapter in LuHi’s unfolding story. As we reflect on the lessons learned and the successes achieved, we now look forward with renewed energy.

This fall, LuHi will launch the next phase of strategic planning—an intentional, collaborative effort that will shape our vision for years to come.

The future of LuHi is bright. Together, we will ensure that our school continues to thrive, grounded in faith, for years to come.
John Buck | Head of School

Just as Shine was built through the input and insight of the LuHi family, our next plan will be shaped the same way. Later this month, we will release a comprehensive community survey to students, parents, alumni, faculty, and friends of LuHi.

This survey will provide an important opportunity for our community to share hopes, perspectives, and ideas. Together, we will build a vision that ensures LuHi continues to thrive—grounded in faith, excellence, and community.
