LuHi’s Beyond Boundaries Program Returns!
Beyond Boundaries is LuHi’s signature project-based learning week. The program dates back to 2014, and is a much beloved tradition for LuHi students. While it has taken many forms over the years, Beyond Boundaries is currently modeled after the J-Term concept in higher education, where students take a pause in their normal classes to take two mini-courses that delve into area of interest and expose them to new skills and passions.
While Beyond Boundaries normally takes place in January, the experience was moved this year to May. Many courses took advantage of both the beautiful weather and LuHi’s expansive campus during the week of May 23.
A wide variety of courses ran throughout the week. Our 11th and 12th grade students took courses that included Adulting 101, Archery, Racquet Sports, Event Planning, and Game Creation. Our 8th, 9th, and 10th grade students took courses that included Planning LuHi’s Field Day, Calligraphy, Travel Agent Challenge, and Crepes and Paris! Our 6th and 7th grade students took courses that included Intro To Photography, Foraging for Art, Tap Tok, and FUNdraising for a Cause.
