63rd Commencement Ceremony Honors the Class of 2026
On Saturday, May 30, LuHi proudly held its 63rd Commencement Ceremony, celebrating the Class of 2026. The Visscher Gym was filled with excitement as family members, friends, faculty, and guests gathered to honor the achievements of this year’s graduating seniors.
The Class of 2026 selected Victoria Miciotta as the commencement speaker. In her address, she encouraged her classmates to live with intention, sharing the powerful reminder, “Be deliberate on how you choose to spend your time.” Her words set the tone for a meaningful and reflective ceremony.
Salutatorian Olivia Smitelli delivered a heartfelt speech, reminding her peers that “comparison is often the thief of joy,” encouraging her classmates to embrace their individual journeys and celebrate their own growth.
Valedictorian Olivia Mirador inspired the audience with her message to “embrace the unexpected and forge ahead,” a fitting charge as the graduates step into the next chapter of their lives.
A special moment in the ceremony came as Olivia Smitelli and Cole Thomas were recognized as the 2026 Pro Deo et Schola Award recipients. This prestigious honor, the highest award presented at LuHi, is given to the senior boy and girl who exemplify a Christ centered life both in school and in their home churches. Together, they offered the final prayer, bringing a meaningful close to the ceremony.
Following the formal proceedings, the celebration continued with a receiving line down the main hill, where graduates shared hugs, laughter, and high fives with their teachers. The Class of 2026 then gathered one final time at a reception hosted by the Family Association, capturing memories through photos and celebrating alongside loved ones.
It was a day filled with joy, reflection, and gratitude as LuHi sent off another remarkable class. Congratulations, Class of 2026. Your journey continues, and we cannot wait to see all that lies ahead.
