6th Grade Students Participate in Annual College Day

On Thursday, November 10, LuHi’s 6th grade participated in our annual College Day! This has become an important LuHi tradition for our youngest students.

The students start their day learning about the college process, and how their educational experience will continue to prepare them for college as they move through middle and high school. Students are broken into groups and assigned a college to research. The goal is to learn all about the college, create a presentation, and share about the college at the “College Fair” at the end of the day.

The students did a phenomenal job throughout the day! The College Fair was quite successful. The 6th graders presented their colleges to many students and staff members, which involved honing their public speaking and communication skills. We are so proud of our 6th grade students, and so thankful for Mrs. Kelly Walters, our Middle School Counselor, who leads this program each year!
