Convocation Chapel 2025: A Tribute to Student Achievement

Each year, LuHi’s Convocation Chapel stands as a meaningful milestone in our school calendar, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students across all areas of school life. Held in the Hahn Center, this year’s Convocation Chapel was filled with heartfelt applause, reflection, and inspiration as students, faculty, and families gathered to honor the Class of 2025 and their peers.

This special chapel service highlights excellence in academics, arts, athletics, campus ministry, leadership, and service. While the event largely centers on the accomplishments of our seniors, several awards are also given to underclassmen, acknowledging their commitment and contributions to the LuHi community.

One of the most prestigious honors of the day was the presentation of the 2025 Pro Deo et Schola Award, “For God and School,” given to Emily Butera and Lorenzo Riddick. This award recognizes students who exemplify the heart of LuHi’s mission: living a life of purpose through service, leadership, and faith. Both Emily and Lorenzo are deeply respected by peers and faculty alike, not just for their academic and extracurricular achievements, but for their character and commitment to the LuHi values.

Also, during the ceremony, we took time to honor Rosemary McNair, who is retiring from her role as Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Rosemary was awarded the 2025 Randy Abbe Christian Service Award, recognizing her faithful commitment to LuHi’s mission. Her warmth, grace, and quiet leadership have left a lasting impact on our community, and we are deeply grateful for her years of service.

Throughout the ceremony, students were called forward to receive awards in subjects ranging from Math and English to Visual Arts and Christian Leadership. Coaches and directors celebrated athletes and artists for their dedication and achievements, while faculty shared words of encouragement and pride.

Convocation Chapel is more than just an award ceremony. It is a reminder of the strong community and shared purpose that defines life at LuHi. It’s a celebration of perseverance, a recognition of gifts and talents, and a moment to lift one another up as we prepare to close out the school year.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients. We are proud of you and grateful for the light you shine within our halls and beyond. Click here to view more photos from Convocation Chapel!
