A Season of Growth, Grit, and Togetherness: LuHi Girls Tennis 2025 Recap
The 2025 tennis season was one to remember! Just a few years ago, there were only five players on the roster. This season, seventeen girls came together to compete, support one another, and bring incredible energy to the court.
“This team supports each other better than any group I’ve ever coached,” said Coach Jason Wass. “Seeing 17 girls out there this season made the experience especially meaningful. The growth in both numbers and team spirit has been amazing.”
Some of the best moments came in the closest matches — the ones that went into tiebreakers and really tested everyone’s focus and fight. “Those matches showed exactly who we are as a team,” Coach said. “Watching them dig deep in those deciding third sets — win or lose — was what it’s all about.”
Beyond the wins and losses, this group grew in confidence and character. They pushed each other to improve, supported one another through challenges, and showed what it means to be true teammates. “They’ve lifted each other up all season long,” Coach shared. “That kind of growth — on and off the court — is what makes this team special.”

Looking ahead, the lessons from this year will carry over into next season and beyond. “For many of our players, tennis is one of the few times they get to really experience being part of a team,” said Coach. “I hope they take that with them — the trust, the teamwork, the pride in doing something together.”
A big shoutout to co-captains Olivia and McKenna Mirador for their leadership and heart all season long. Their example set the tone for the group and helped make this year such a success.
