9th Grade Retreat: “Called by Name”
Our 9th graders gathered at Camp DeWolfe for their annual retreat, spending time away from the classroom to build community, take on challenges together, and grow in their faith.
This year’s retreat centered around the theme “Called by Name,” reminding students that they are known, valued, and uniquely called by God. Throughout the retreat, students participated in a variety of team-building activities that challenged them to communicate, encourage one another, and work together to overcome obstacles.
A special part of this year’s retreat was the opportunity for our 9th graders to connect with 12 senior helpers who helped lead group games and activities and shared personal testimonies. Their presence gave students the opportunity to hear from older students about their own experiences and faith journeys while creating meaningful connections across grade levels.
Along with the activities and time spent together, worship was an important part of the retreat experience. Students had opportunities to slow down, reflect, and focus their hearts and minds on God.
From challenging one another on team-building activities to sharing laughs, stories, and worship together, the retreat gave our 9th graders space to strengthen friendships and grow as a class. Most importantly, students were reminded that they are known by name and never walk their journey alone.
