Crusader Robotics Earns Bid to State Championship

College Board Female Diversity Award for LuHi

LuHi’s hard-working, dedicated High School Robotics team – led by STEM Coordinator Mr. Harold Kennedy – recently qualified for the state championship!

On February 4, 2023, our robotics team – 11545A Crusaders – competed in the VEX Robotics Competition: SPIN UP event held at Freeport High School. The team placed 4th at the end of the qualifying rounds, and was actually eliminated during the elimination rounds. However, our team won the Design Award, which recognizes an organized and professional approach to the Engineering Design Process, project and time management, and team organization. The students that win this award demonstrate how the Engineering Design Process is fundamental to the educational value of REC Foundation programs. Winning this award qualified the team for the state championship in March. Congratulations to all of our team members and Coach Kennedy!
