What I love about my role: I love that I am able to use my skills and interests to provide the best service possible to the school community through facility maintenance, enhancements, and sustainability in all campus environments.
Hobbies: Boating, tinkering, and raising funds and awareness cancer research.
What I love most about LuHi: I love working at LuHi because, as an alum, I am able to give back to a place that holds a special place in my life.

LuHi Role: Head of Campus Safety and Risk Management, Emeritus; semi-retired and currently assisting part-time as Campus Operations Associate.
Education: Concordia-Nebraska (1981), Bachelor of Arts with distinction – Biology/Chemistry; Long Island University (1984),Master of Science – Medical Microbiology; Registered Microbiologist (Consumer Products/Quality Control) – American Society of Microbiology; New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B); American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor
Other Professional Experience: Prior to working at LuHi, I worked for Byk-Gulden/Altana Pharmaceuticals (now owned by Novartis). I was a Quality Control Microbiologist, supporting the manufacturing environment, testing process materials and finished products to ensure product purity, effectiveness and stability and assisting with product and process development.
What I love about my role: In my current role, I am blessed to get to meet/greet every kid (and potentially every parent) each day as they arrive to school. I’ve also been fortunate enough to serve as a coach of the Middle School/Modified football for many years, and serve as Varsity Football team medic/manager. I’m also the resident emergency first responder.
Hobbies/Interests: I’m a 30+year volunteer Firefighter/EMT (Jericho FD) and past Chief of Department; I serve as a tenor in our Church Choir (Trinity-Hicksville) and am an occasional soloist; I enjoy home brewing (founder and brewmaster of “High Pool Brewing”) and love cooking both the “standards” and experimenting with new things/recipes.
Family: Married to Jane (LuHi’s Head of Advancement); three sons (all LuHi alumni); my boys each have a wonderful significant other; I’m also the proud “Pop” to grandsons Jack and Beau.
Awards: 2006 recipient of the Randy Abbe Christian Service award
Why I love LuHi: I am blessed to serve God here! “Love in truth and action…” LuHi unashamedly puts God’s love for us in Christ Jesus out front, and all the people that we call the “LuHi Family” shows that in all that they do (core values = Christian love, community, family and excellence).

What I love about my role: Taking care of all the little details that go into LuHi functioning between school and camp

What I love most about LuHi: the teamwork and atmosphere, especially down to the wire when things need to get done
