Faith in Action: LuHi’s Good Friday Observance
Today, our LuHi community came together to participate in our annual Good Friday observance—an important time of reflection, reverence, and remembrance. Each year, this day invites students and faculty to pause amidst the busyness of life and prepare their hearts for Holy Week.
The day began with a small prayer service, allowing students to center themselves and reflect on the significance of Good Friday. Following the service, students planted bulbs in their Advisory class—a symbolic act of hope and renewal. This tradition reminds us that even in the midst of sorrow and sacrifice, new life and beauty are promised.
Throughout the day, students experienced a Stations of the Cross gallery walk—an immersive, peer-led reflection featuring artwork by LuHi alumna Maria Nazarova ’23. The gallery walk provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect more deeply with the story of Jesus’s journey to the cross, engaging not only their minds but also their hearts and senses.

We concluded the day with one of LuHi’s most moving traditions: the annual Passion Play. Performed by the junior class, the Passion Play brings the events of Good Friday to life in a powerful and deeply personal way. Through storytelling, music, and performance, our students honored the sacrifice at the heart of our faith, sharing it with their peers in a way that continues to leave a lasting impact year after year.
This day of solemn observance offers a meaningful entry into Holy Week, which officially begins this coming Palm Sunday and continues through Easter Sunday. As we move into this sacred time, we carry with us the reflections and experiences of today—grounded in faith, community, and hope.
