Festive Cheer at LuHi: A Week of Christmas Fun!
The week leading up to Christmas break is always filled with excitement and festive cheer at LuHi, and this year was no different! Students, faculty, and staff came together to celebrate the season with fun dress-up theme days, creative events, and meaningful activities.
Christmas Spirit Week
Each day brought a new opportunity to showcase holiday style and creativity: Christmas Accessories Day saw a sea of Santa hats, reindeer antlers, and sparkly holiday scarves; Ugly Sweater Day was a hit, with students proudly displaying their most outrageous and colorful sweaters; Christmas Pajama Day let everyone get cozy in their holiday-themed PJs; Christmas Character Day brought beloved characters like Rudolph, the Grinch, and Frosty the Snowman to life in our halls; and Holiday Best Day wrapped up the week in style with everyone looking their best for the season.
Reindeer Games
Thursday was all about friendly competition and school spirit during our annual Reindeer Games. This “battle of the classes” event featured activities like:
- Name That Tune: Participants tested their knowledge of holiday classics to the delight of cheering classmates.
- Cup Stacking: Students stacked the cups and had to place the one with the star on top without them falling over!
- Relay Races: Students showed off their speed and teamwork in fun, holiday-themed challenges.
- Red Light Green Light: Participants in 6-12th grade raced to the finish line.
The energy in the room was electric as students cheered on their peers with enthusiasm. At the end of the day, the senior class was the winning team—congratulations to them for their teamwork and holiday spirit!
A Meaningful Final Day
Today was the last day before our Christmas/Winter break, and it was a perfect blend of celebration and reflection. Students enjoyed a delicious luncheon and participated in a special service project for Operation Christmas Child, where they packed gift boxes to bring joy to children in need.
We closed out the week with a heartfelt, school-wide chapel service, where the Choir’s beautiful performance filled the air with holiday spirit. It was a time for the community to come together, reflect on the meaning of Christmas, and prepare to spend the holiday break with family and friends.
An additional highlight of the week was the Live Nativity, a beautiful production reflecting on the birth of Jesus. Students from the Applied Christianity Class brought the Nativity story to life through heartfelt performances that reminded everyone of the true meaning of Christmas.
As we head into the holidays, we wish everyone in the LuHi community a Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year. We look forward to seeing you all in 2025!
