Honoring Holy Week Through Worship and Reflection at LuHi
Today, our LuHi community gathered for a meaningful Holy Week Chapel, continuing a cherished tradition that invites students and faculty to pause, reflect, and prepare their hearts for Easter.
Led by Pastor Schoepflin, the service incorporated traditional elements of Maundy Thursday worship, creating a reverent and intentional space for reflection, prayer, and renewal. Through worship and guided moments of stillness, students were encouraged to consider the significance of this holy season and its message of grace and redemption.
As students made their way to the Passion Play, our 11th-grade religion classes led their peers through meditations on the Stations of the Cross. This experience allowed students to walk step by step through the journey of Jesus’ crucifixion, offering a deeper understanding of His sacrifice and love.

One of the most powerful moments of the day invited students into personal reflection. Each student was given the opportunity to write a private note to God, laying down burdens, struggles, and sins. These notes were then cast into a fire, serving as a meaningful and symbolic reminder that God removes what weighs on us and offers forgiveness and new life.
The day concluded with a moving Passion Play, performed by our 11th grade students. Through their thoughtful and heartfelt portrayal, the story of Jesus’ crucifixion was brought to life in a way that resonated deeply with the entire community.
LuHi’s Holy Week Chapel remains a meaningful and unforgettable experience each year, one that not only honors tradition but also encourages students to reflect, grow, and enter into the Easter season with renewed faith and understanding.
