LuHi Students Participate in Model United Nations Conference

This past Saturday, Briana ’27 and Andrew ’28 joined approximately 200 students from across Long Island at Bay Shore High School’s Model United Nations Conference.

The conference gave students the opportunity to step into the roles of United Nations delegates, representing different countries and participating in committee discussions on complex issues facing the global community. Through debate and collaboration, students explored international challenges and considered potential solutions from a global perspective.

Briana represented El Salvador in the United Nations Legal Committee, where delegates discussed the United Nations Security Council’s exercise of power. Andrew represented France in the UNICEF committee, which focused on the reintegration of child soldiers.

By participating in the conference, Briana and Andrew engaged with important global issues while developing their critical thinking, public speaking, and diplomatic skills. Their involvement reflects LuHi’s commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and grow as informed, engaged members of the global community.

Congratulations to Briana and Andrew on representing LuHi at this year’s conference!
