LuHi’s Annual Meal Packing Event: Serving Together as the Hands and Feet of Jesus
From March 9-11, LuHi came together for our annual Meal Packing Event—our largest service initiative of the year. In collaboration with Meals from the Heart, our gymnasium transformed into a hub of energy and teamwork as students, faculty, volunteers, and members of local churches and community groups worked side by side to make a difference.
Over the course of three days, participants took on various roles in the meal assembly process—measuring ingredients, sealing packages, and packing boxes—all with enthusiasm and purpose. This event was more than just an assembly line; it was an opportunity to come together in service, living out our belief that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, reflecting LuHi’s commitment to being the hands and feet of Jesus. In total, we packed 134,003 meals, ensuring that those facing food insecurity will receive much-needed nourishment.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the event was witnessing students of all ages working alongside teachers, parents, and volunteers, sharing in the joy of giving back. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, encouragement, and a shared sense of purpose, reinforcing the idea that small actions can create a big impact.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone who participated, from those who packed meals to those who supported behind the scenes. This event is a reminder of the power of service and the strength of our LuHi community. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making an even greater impact in the years ahead!
