Student Spotlight: Jode ’29 Recognized by the Women’s Sports Foundation
LuHi is proud to celebrate Jode ’29, a talented young surfer who was recently recognized in the Women’s Sports Foundation’s (WSF) Annual Salute to Women in Sports!
Jode was featured in the WSF Community Spotlight, highlighting the Laru Beya Collective, an organization dedicated to expanding access to sports and creating opportunities for young people through surfing, mentorship, and community engagement.
Through its work, the Laru Beya Collective helps historically excluded youth develop confidence, build meaningful connections, and experience a sense of belonging through sport. The organization was highlighted for its efforts to make sports more accessible and empower the next generation.
The Women’s Sports Foundation’s Annual Salute to Women in Sports celebrates the impact of women in athletics and recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for all young people to participate in sports.
