7th Grade Retreat: Into the Wilderness
Our 7th graders spent several days at Camp Olmstead for their annual retreat, coming together for a time of friendship, team-building, worship, and spiritual growth.
This year’s retreat theme, “Into the Wilderness,” was inspired by Exodus 16, where God provided manna for the Israelites as they journeyed through the wilderness. Through this story, students were encouraged to consider what it means to trust God and recognize His faithfulness and provision, even when the path ahead may feel uncertain.
Throughout the retreat, students took part in team-building activities and challenges that required them to work together, communicate, and encourage one another. As they faced obstacles as a group, they learned the importance of relying on their classmates and supporting one another along the way.
The retreat also included meaningful times of worship, giving students an opportunity to step away from their usual routines and intentionally focus on their relationship with God. These moments provided space for students to reflect on the lessons of the retreat and consider how they can trust God in their own lives.
Between the activities, challenges, conversations, and worship, the 7th graders had plenty of opportunities to strengthen friendships and grow together as a class. Their time at Camp Olmstead was a reminder that even when we find ourselves in our own “wilderness” moments, God is faithful to provide and guide us along the way.
