His military commendations include: the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Marksmanship Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation, and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
His death marked a profound loss for his family, his community, and his country. He is remembered with deep respect and admiration by his classmates, the entire LuHi family, and his country. His sacrifice embodies the values of courage, honor, and commitment to God and country. As we reflect on his life and service, may we draw inspiration from his example and strive to promote peace, mutual respect, and equality for all.

On October 19, 2024 the memorial plaque, dedicated to Allen Paul Sheehan ’65 and all LuHi Alumni who have served, was a heartfelt gift from the First Family Classes of 1964, 1965, and 1966. Their generous donation speaks to the deep bonds of community and faith that have been the cornerstone of LuHi since its founding. This act of remembrance honors not only those who served but also the enduring spirit of the early classes, whose legacy continues to inspire us today.
