Congratulations, Class of 2021!
On Saturday, June 12th, LuHi held its 58th Commencement Ceremony celebrating the Class of 2021. While COVID regulations allowed for only 4 guests per graduate, the excitement in the room was palpable as family, friends, and guests of the graduating class awaited the commencement ceremonies, after a challenging year for our students.
The Class of 2021 chose Mr. Denis Scannell to address them as this year’s commencement speaker. Mr. Scannell shared what he learned from the senior class. He said, “We can’t control most of what happens to us in life, but we do control how we respond, and we can meet these challenges together. You have collectively risen to the challenge. So don’t underestimate your own resilience: you have inspired me with yours. I have learned much from this class.” He left them with three things to work on when they go off to college: “Find out who you really are, begin to think about where you want to go, and do both without forgetting where you come from.”
At the end of the graduation ceremony, the class participated in a new tradition – a walk down the hill through a receiving line of cheering faculty and staff! The newly minted alumni gathered one last time on the football field for a class photo, threw their caps in the air, and celebrated their graduation with their friends and family. Congratulations, Class of 2021!
