From Dude Ranch to Adventure Park: Inside LuHi’s Spring 2026 Retreats

Spring 2026 marked another meaningful chapter in LuHi’s retreat program, a valued tradition that invites students to step away from the pace of everyday school life and invest in reflection, relationships, and spiritual growth. As the academic year drew to a close, both our 8th grade and junior classes participated in memorable retreat experiences designed to celebrate where they have been and prepare them for what lies ahead.
Our junior class spent the day at The Adventure Park, where students took on a series of elevated ropes courses and ziplines set among the trees. The experience challenged students both physically and mentally, encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zones and rely on one another for support. As they progressed through increasingly difficult courses, students built confidence, strengthened friendships, and embraced moments of perseverance. This retreat provided an energizing and meaningful pause as they look ahead to the important season of college preparation.Meanwhile, our 8th grade students continued a beloved LuHi tradition with their retreat to Rocking Horse Dude Ranch. Over the course of three days and two nights, the Class of 2030 experienced a special time of connection, celebration, and reflection as they prepare to transition into high school. From horseback riding and outdoor activities to time spent by the lake and sharing meals together, each moment was an opportunity to grow in community. The retreat created space for laughter, meaningful conversations, and lasting memories, serving as a joyful and fitting conclusion to their middle school journey.

Looking back on this year’s retreats, we are reminded of the importance of creating space for students to connect beyond the classroom. These experiences not only strengthen relationships but also encourage personal and spiritual growth in ways that leave a lasting impact. Whether navigating challenges in the trees or enjoying peaceful moments outdoors, our students return from these retreats with renewed perspective, deeper friendships, and a stronger sense of who they are becoming.
