LuHi Wrestling Delivers Strong State Championship Performance

LuHi Wrestling capped off another outstanding season with an impressive showing at the state championships, continuing to build on a year highlighted by hosting the annual Sorensen Invitational.

Leading the way for the Crusaders were newly crowned state champions Josh Nnorom and Samar Hunter. Hunter also earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors, solidifying his dominant performance as one of the tournament’s top competitors.

LuHi saw strong results across the board, including a standout performance from Nolan Broderick, who placed second after an unforgettable triple-overtime battle against a returning state champion—widely considered the match of the day.

Additional podium finishes included Lucas Izquierdo (3rd), Javaughn Carr and Kai Radics (4th), Calais Parks and Max Ross (5th), and Juliese Pierce (6th).

In total, 9 of 14 Crusaders placed at states, powering LuHi to a 5th-place team finish and closing out a season defined by depth, resilience, and championship-level success.
