Service Opportunities Abound at LuHi During Lent

During the month of March, students have several opportunities to give back to their community – right here at LuHi! The middle school students are participating in “Cereal Kindness”. The goal is collect boxes of cereal to donate to local food pantries, and each grade is competing to see who can bring in the most boxes. In addition, the high school students are collecting items for Easter baskets, which will be compiled and donated to local hospitals for children to receive on Easter.

In addition to the above projects, two students – Raoul ’23 and Sumayya ’23 – are spearheading an effort to collect items for the Terena Williams Glory House in Hempstead. They are collecting sanitary supplies like shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, toothpaste/toothbrushes, mouthwash, tampons/pads, deodorant, and shaving cream to donate within the center, and the supplies will be distributed to those in need in the Hempstead community.
