Bid-For-Kids 2022

On November 11, guests at LuHi’s annual Bid-For-Kids auction at the Crest Hollow Country Club joined to make our Black and White Ball theme a visual feast for the eyes! Tuxedos and gowns worn by our guests enhanced the decor throughout the room, with pops of black and white featured in the geometric student artwork, beautiful balloon centerpieces, and a striking photo backdrop!

Raffle opportunities, the ring toss, and the silent auction engaged guests through the cocktail hour. For the first time, the twilight auction was held online and guests were able to bid on these items from their seats throughout the evening.

The live auction was high-spirited as Pastor Justin Vetrano from The Life Lutheran Church in Old Westbury kept the crowd engaged. In addition to exciting trips and unique items, we offered up sponsorship of two signature service events at LuHi – our 2023 mission trip to Puerto Rico and our annual Meal Packing Event. After hearing from seniors Stella Bizekis, Raoul Estinvil, and Brandon Tapia, attendees vied for the opportunity to be event sponsor. The Alvarez/Camacho Family and The Cusick-Carpenter Family won the bids, respectively. An anonymous $10,000 match was made for shares offered to all at $500. In the end, attendees raised a record $42,000 for student service experiences that help others and assist LuHi in developing compassionate, educated leaders for the future.
